Yahoo Update | How's Your Weather?

On 9/26/2007 Yahoo reported in the "Yahoo Search Blog", that they would be doing some updates to the crawling indexing and ranking algorithms in the next few days. They also stated they were making some index changes with "fresh web data". I was doing a little serp surfing last night, and I can see some pretty drastic changes. My serps for the most part have so far fared well, except for this blog. Anyhow, it's most likely too soon to tell.

In the blog post they went over the benefit of the new dynamic url rewriting. I really have to give Yahoo kudos for this one, what a great addition to their tools! Essentially, your sites will be crawled better, and of course end users benefit greatly from static & clean looking urls. If you didn't get in there and rewrite them, them Yahoo has done it for you..Might want to check that out.

I think Yahoo is making every attempt to retain it's "brand" loyal users and reclaim it's margin users. It would most likely be some time before there was any "real" competition, but anything can happen.
