Adsense Video Ads
Adsense announced a cool new tool on it's blog yesterday 10/9/07, Adsense Ads for YouTube Videos. This is a very nice step for Adsense, I think. There are some specs you should be aware of...But all in all I think this can add to your marketing advantage very nicely. It is recommended that you sync your YouTube and Adsense accounts, and you have to await approval to start displaying Ads...But mine took less than 2 hours. See the example below. You need to have YouTube account to use this Adsense feature.
The Ad unit displays a top banner "companion Ad" and in video "text overlay" Ads in video covering 20% of the bottom viewable area, but can be closed by the user. You can adjust the color scheme in the Ad editor to a limited number of choices, and there are 3 sizes available: 400 x 415; 500 x 510; and 780 x 560.
Content choices are automated content based Ads, just like regular Adsense...And you can add hints (keywords) to help them along. Additionally, you can choose from an array of categories to display content from....As well as individual providers.
Ads are paid cost per click (CPC) and cost-per-thousand impressions (eCPM). The reports will be displayed separately from your regular Adsense reports in a "Video Units" heading on your custom channels reports frame. Correction 10:01am 10/10/01
Currently, this Ad unit feature is only available to US, English language websites.
